I remember a time when webmasters were free to buy old or expired domains and create sites that the search engines loved. These days, the search engines (especially Google) often punish us for doing so. If you buy a domain that Google previously frowned upon for any reason, that punishment may follow the domain to a new owner. I have one site that Google refuses to index because of something (I know not what) that a previous owner did. Reinclusion requests to Google explaining the situation resulted in being absolutely ignored by Google.</p>
