Il 14 Dicembre Microsoft ha annunciato che anche Internet Explorer 7 utilizzerà l'icona arancione già usata da Firefox per indicare feed Atom e RSS.

Una delle motivazioni ufficiali fornite da Microsoft è la volontà di evitare eccessiva confusione agli utenti e tentare di raggiungere degli standard tra browser almeno in qualche campo.
